IV (9) pair and 3c Rose Red (11) on Oct. 24, 1854 folded letter from San Francisco to London paying the 29c British mail rate showing 5c surcharge for West Coast mail, each stamp canceled by separate strike of red "19" credit (12c and 1c pairs tied), also red oval "Via Nicaragua In Advance of Mails Sullivan" lightly struck which additionally ties 12c pair, red British Paid receivng postmark. on face, no other markings, readable contents- part family/part business ("Ned leaves for China in a few days"); cover with a couple of vertical. file folds, one passing through right 1c, still a Very Fine and spectacular usage, and extraordinarily rare. One of the very few examples of a "complete set" of the 1851 Issue used on a single cover, this is probably the most striking- unique with the stamps canceled solely by the credit marking.
