Lot 141
CIVIL WAR AUTOGRAPHS, Group of about 75 signatures, most appear to be clipped from post-war pay vouchers from the late 1860s to about 1880. We have identified 16 different Union Generals including George Crook plus an autographed 1868 carte-de-visite of Edward M. Stanton, Lincoln's Secretary of War. There are more Generals we couldn't identify as well as several officers with the rank of Colonel or lower. There are also autographs of what appear to be German scholars and professors of the late 19th century. An interesting lot.
