Postage Due, 1879, 2¢ deep brown, Special Printing (J9), virtually perfectly centered with rich color, distinctive impression and full, barely hinged o.g. A choice Extremely Fine example of this rare stamp.

The postage due special printings are, perhaps, the most difficult to locate in premium condition. Almost invariably, they are off centered, without gum, thinned, or usually all of the above. This mint single with outstanding centering, full o.g. and being completely sound and fresh is one of the few available gems.

A very attractive Extremely Fine appearing example of this rare revenue of which only 204 were printed, #26-4 in the Kingsley census.
