1869, 15¢ brown & blue, type II, center inverted (119b), well centered, perfectly struck quartered cork cancel a light crease, couple small thins, tiny sealed tear, certificate mentions "two grills, one faked" (we see no evidence of a second grill) appears Very Fine with the cancel being particularly striking.

Of the 86 recorded examples of the 15¢ invert, this is one of only six that are well centered (according to a Trepel census). Scott's value is for a Fine centered example with minimal faults.

The 30¢ 1869 is the rarest of the non revenue inverts with less than 40 used examples estimated to exist. As with the other 1869 inverts, most of these are faulty. The example offered here not only possesses excellent centering and color it also enjoys complete freedom from faults and/or repairs, making this example among the five or six finest stamps extant of this popular and important error.
