Lot 116

United States automobile advertising covers, an outstanding collection of about 150 covers, 1896-1957, in two 3-ring binders, all with auto dealers' or manufacturers' corner cards, mostly illustrated, either with a logo or an auto; also includes about 45 clipped vintage advertisements as well as a few picture postcards and several illustrated letterheads. Though haphazardly mounted and sparsely written-up, this is the makings of an award-winning collection once remounted. A marvelous showing of this popular topic. Also includes hundreds of automobile advertisements cut from magazines and newspapers of the early 1930's to 1940 and pasted into five large scrapbooks; more than half are in color.
Estimate 4,000 - 6,000
