Mafia Island, 1915 (Sept.) overprinted "G.R. Post Mafia" in blue-green on "I.E.F." 3p slate-grey pair and ½a yellow-green (SG M33-M34), on envelope to England, showing "Mafia/ DE 14 16" c.d.s. adjacent, backstamped "Zanzibar/ DE 18 16" transit, the G.R. Post Mafia handstamp unusually having benn regarded as a canceller of the stamps. Very Fine and remarkable usage.

Mafia Island, 1915 (Sept.) 1a carmine (SG M35), tied by "G.R. Post Mafia" overprint in dull blue on envelope to Zanzibar (29.12.15 arrival), with "Opened by Censor under Martial Law" adhesive label applied over the stamp and subsequently peeled back for display purposes, the stamp has a rounded corner due to application at edge of cover. Fine. A truly exceptional and indisputable commercial usage of supreme rarity.
