RARE DOUBLE RATE USAGE TO SINGAPORE.

Provenance: 'Sevenoaks'

The sender apparently franked the cover at double the 57¢ British mail rate via Marseilles that expired on May 31, 1863. The rate was lowered to 53¢ on June 1, 1863.
