The impressions on this scarce rubber date stamp are usually weak. The illustration in the Putzel handbook even omits the year date as the year slugs from his example(s) were too indistinct. This cover thus provides an exceptional example of this scarce rubber date stamp.

Rheinpfalz: KGV 4d registered postal stationery envelope used 1921 (24 Sept.) to Windhoek, via Rehoboth (7.10), bearing 1913 2½d bright blue, cancelled by extremely fine violet "Rhein Phalz" rubber stamp (without year slugs: Putzel No. 1a), extremely desirable and extremely rare usage unusually showing complete superb strikes of this rare canceller, Very Fine.

The rubber datestamp cancels interestingly show a spelling error of "Rheinpfalz".
