1837 (Oct. 2) Fort Towson, Indian Territory to Boston, Mass., forwarded to Milton, Choctow Nation, "Fort Towson Oct 2d 1837" dateline on folded letter with manscript "Paid 25", from Lt. Col. Josiah H. Voss who was active in the transfer of Indians, to his sister in Boston, forwarded at Boston with red c.d.s. and manuscript "6" rating to Milton, contents of a family nature; minor tear, Fine.

1838 (Apr. 8) Fort Towson, Indian Territory to Boston, Mass., Choctow Nation, datelined folded letter bearing "Fort Towson Ark. Apr 8" c.d.s. with matching "Paid" handstamp and "25" manuscript rating, letter from Lt. Col. Josiah H. Voss who was active in the transfer of Indians, to his sister, the letter refers to the continuation of "Florida (Seminole) War" and that sender would have to go there; recent enforcements, he has 250 men and that shortly 50 will leave for Fort Gibson; and refers to navigation of Red River improving with the arrival of a steamboat from New Orleans; Very Fine, a scarce postmark on a letter with interesting content.

Free" postmaster's frank, addressed to his son on the Frigate Brandywine at Lima Peru in South America, endorsed "P.M. must forward this by sloop of war Portsmouth", historical 1844 letter refers to sons trip to China and around the world, and tells of Indian attacks including attack by 300 Indians on court house in attempt to release Indian in fortified jail, also tells of political campaigns and election of Gov. Polk as President and defeat of Whig candidate Clay, Very Fine and interesting content.
