Castine Mail", circular contains "You will herewith receive a printed copy of "An act in addition to the act entitled "An act supplementary to the act entitled "An act laying an embargo on all ships and vessels in the ports and harbors of the United States", the new act requires that "A bond must by this act be required from every description of vessel or boats which might not be embraced by the preceding acts"; small faults, Fine.

The Potomac Steamboat postmark is a route agent's handstamp that was applied on mail handed to the route agent on board the steamboat traveling on mail route No. 2401. This route operated on the Potomac River between Washington D.C. and Aquia Creek Va.
