1852, "C. & P.R.R./Nov. 5", manuscript route agent postmark at Cleveland tying 1851 3¢ dull red (11) margins to touching at top, on folded letter to Washington, D.C., Very Fine and rare marking. Towle Route 554-H-1 to Pittsburgh.

1857 (c.), "C.P. & A.R.R./Painesvile./May8", oval datestamp in black of the Cleveland, Painesville & Ashtabula railroad at left on buff envelope to Bill Hill, Ky. bearing 1857 3¢ dull red (26) tied by Cleveland c.d.s., Towle Route 115; Painesville to Cleveland with transfer at Cleveland; reduced slightly at right, Very Fine.

1855, "C.Z. & C.R.R> Ohio, Sep 13" (Towle 573-A-1, Remele C23a), c.d.s. in black for the Cleveland, Zanesville & Cincinnati railroad tying 1851 3¢ dull red (11) on cover to Akron, Ohio, route agent was at Hudson, Ohio where Route 573 connected with Route 554, edge faults, Fine.

Toledo, Norwalk & Cleveland R.R., both types on correspondence to Oberlin, Ohio comprising (Aug. 31) cover with blue Towle 559-B-1, Remele T2-b c.d.s. tying 1851 3¢ dull red (11) pre-use cut in (May 10) cover with black Towle 559-B-2, Remele T2-a tying 1851 3¢ dull red (11) slightly cut in, slightly stained, both strikes are Very Fine and make an attractive pair.
