ONE OF ONLY A FEW EXAMPLES OF A COMMERCIALLY USED ORIGINAL HAMMARSKJOLD INVERT, THIS POSSIBLY BEING THE ONLY RECORDED PAIR.

Expertization: 2007 P.F. Certificate.

As stated in Scott, the 1203a original Hammarskjold invert can only be collected on a cover (or a piece) postmarked before November 16, 1962 (the date the #1204 Hammarskjold Special Printing was issued). The 1204 special printing was issued by the Post Office following the discovery of No. 1203 with the yellow background inverted. While a small quantity of the original exist on first day cover, commercially used examples are extremely rare.

Two panes of forty containing these two errors have been discovered. Between the two, there are a total of 56 stamps with inverted centers and 24 with centers omitted.
