Certificate.

1863, 2¢ black (73), single used in combination with 5¢ brown (each with some trimmed perforations) and Vancouver Island 5¢ rose (5), on 3¢ rose entire (U581), with paid printed frank, to San Francisco, U.S. stamps tied by blue "Wells Fargo * Co/Victoria April 5" oval datestamp, 5¢ rose cancelled by blue "Paid", and all also tied by the neat docketing often characteristic of this correspondence, trivial opening tear at upper right. Very Fine usage.

1863, 2¢ black (73), single with natural s.e. at R, used with 10¢ green (68) and 3¢ rose F. grill (94) on red-bordered envelope to France, stamps tied by bold matching cork cancels, clear "San Francisco Cal. Aug. 18th" manuscript. "Overland" in corner, Sept. 13 Calais receiving postmark with not quite clear year date though it appears to be "68"; cover opened at top. Very Fine usage.

1862, 5¢ red brown (75), well tied by large "Paid" in grid of Boston on blue folded cover to St. John's, Newfoundland, large "4d" stg due handstamp, bold Jul. 15, 1863 receiving postmark on reverse; few toned spots on lettersheet barely affecting a couple of perfs. Still Very Fine, a very scarce destination with the 5¢ red brown.
