Revenue, 1871-72 Three-Issue usage, bottom portion of a Deed, the taxes being paid by 37 stamps: a 1st Issue 5¢ Agreement (R23c), a 2nd Issue 25¢ (R112) and 35 2nd Issue 2¢ (R135); all cancelled blue manuscript "JWS", the initials of the main signatory, J.W. Schwartle; stamps along the outer edges are damaged, but a Fine and rare usage. These 3-issue usages were possible for a period of only about 11 months, between the issue of the 3rd Issue 2¢ on Nov. 4, 1871 and the termination of Documentary taxes on Sept. 30, 1872.
