AN OUTSTANDING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 3¢ Z. GRILL, WHICH IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN SUCH CHOICE CONDITION.

The 3¢ Z. grill is generally found poorly centered, with perforations touching on one side. The example offered here, with such large margins, is far superior to almost all other examples.

1867, 2¢ black, F. grill, double and split (93, 93 var.), top sheet margin block of 40 with imprint grill shifted so that somewhere between 14 and 18 could have split grills, the balance having the grill at the extreme left edge of the stamp; in addition, most show a lightly impressed (more than several points) second grill in its normal position in the center of the stamp; full, partly disturbed original gum with some reinforcing, couple of gum thins and minor telescoping of perfs, average centering but an important and totally unique Black Jack variety.
