ONE OF ONLY SIX RECORDED USED EXAMPLES OF THE 6¢ POSTAL CARD DURING 1877-78 PRIOR TO THE RATE CHANGE.

This was the first DWI postal card issued in 1877. The denomination of 6¢ was half the existing 12¢ letter rate. It was only valid until 1878, when the postal card rates were lowered to 2¢-3¢.
