1875, 5¢ blue, plate crack (179 var.), used block of four with left pair showing the start of the plate crack that runs from Taylor's right eyebrow downward, cancelled by two strikes of NYFM geometric (Weiss GE-EP4), couple small faults, Fine and rare.

A DRAMATIC PLATE CRACK AND THE ONLY RECORDED MULTIPLE SHOWING THE CRACK.

Expertization: 1986 P.F. Certificate.

This block shows the top two stamps in the 6-stamp reconstruction of this plate crack originally done by Chambers. The Chambers reconstruction sold in Matthew Bennett sale 268 for $8,250.
