Oct 21" c.d.s., complete strike at left, on 1852 folded cover to Washington, D.C., manuscript "Due" and matching blue "5" rating handstamp, 1852 internal docketing, clean and Very Fine.

The 1847 issue was demonetized on July 1, 1851. The postage rates for letters traveling under 3,000 miles after July 1, 1851 were 3¢ for prepaid and 5¢ for unpaid.
