Registry, 1911, 10¢ ultramarine (F1), used with 2¢ Washington and tied by one of two light strikes "U.S.S. Helena, Dec 8, 1914, A.M., Shanghai, China" duplex handstamp on registered cover to a local addressee; also bears faint "Registered" box with manuscript registration number and two U.S.S. Helena "Registered" c.d.s.s, one on reverse; open on three sides. Very Fine.

The only recorded use of the 10¢ registration stamp with a naval ship cancel abroad.

Registry, 1911, 10¢ ultramarine (F1), on 1918 cover from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Saranac Lake, N.Y. and forwarded to to Trudeau, N.Y., used with 3¢ violet & 10¢ special delivery (501, E11b) tied by San Juan double ovals, Santurce, P.R. return address, backstamped San Juan (Apr 5) and Trudeau (Apr 17); stamps extend slightly above top edge of cover, top flap torn. Otherwise Very Fine.

Believed to be the only recorded use of the combination 3¢ war rate with a special delivery stamp and a 10¢ registry stamp from abroad.
