WHITE 1406 STAMPS ARE RECORDED AS HAVING BEEN ISSUED, ONLY A SMALL NUMBER HAVE SURVIVED. MANY OF THE SURVIVING EXAMPLES ARE FOUND WITH PERFORATIONS PENETRATING THE DESIGN ON AT LEAST ONE SIDE AND/OR WITH NO GUM. THE EXAMPLE OFFERED HERE, WITH ITS GENEROUS MARGINS, OUTSTANDING CENTERING, AND FULL FRESH ORIGINAL GUM IS CERTAINLY AMONG THE FINEST REMAINING EXAMPLES.
