Confederacy 1863, 10¢ blue, perf'd (12f), gutter block of four. Vertical inter-pane perforations at left side of gutter creating "wing" margins on the two right stamps (similar to British stamps of the period). Some original gum. Few faults. Otherwise Fine.

THE ONLY KNOWN PERFORATED GUTTER PIECE.

Expertization: 2003 C.S.A. Certificate.

Until the discovery of this block in 2003, it was assumed that the Confederacy's perforation experiments were limited to panes of 100.
