1863, 2¢ brown red (8), five singles tied by three partial Jan 6 Wilmington, N.C. c.d.s.s on a turned cover front to Spartanburg, S.C.; the second use was franked with a 10c greenish blue (12c) tied by a Spartanburg c.d.s., Oct 6, 1864, to Dr. Geo. Turner, 27th Regt., Band S.C. Vols., Hagood's Brigade, near Petersburg, Va.; the 2¢ "Red Jacks" have been removed and replaced, the middle one with a pre-use crease, the top edge (bottom from the reverse) has been repaired, and the 10¢ stamp is faulty. Fine appearance.
