Canada, 1855, 3d red and 6d greenish gray (4, 5b), the 3d has three margins, the 6d four (two large), tied together and to yellow cover to Buffalo by St. Catherines, U.C. 4-ring "38" (numeral indistinct), postmarked red St. Catherine's broken circle, Sept 18, 1857 (with a second strike on the back) and manuscript "Paid & Registered", red straight line "CANADA/PAID 10 Cts" exchange marking, with manuscript "15 Cts" alongside, also ties the 3d, manuscript registration "No 10605", backstamped Clifton, Canada c.d.s. Sept 19; a Very Fine and rare, ten covers known showing this rate but this is by far the finest of the three known with this franking .
