Boone, Daniel (1734-1820), American frontiersman, led expedition extending the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap, facilitating westward expansion, erected a fort at what became Boonesboro. ADS, June 1, 1787, 8 ½ x 6 ½ land survey for Handeman Beard's 1,273 acres in Burbin (sic) County, with sketch of surveyed area in Boone's hand at upper left. Handsomely matted with steel engraving and identification plaque and beautifully framed to 23 x 30 overall. A scarce and very desirable early American autograph.
