Eastman, George W. (1854-1932), American inventor & industrialist, perfected process for making photographic dry plates and flexible film, invented Kodak box camera 1888. TLS on 8 x 10 "Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company" letterhead, Rochester, NY, Feb. 2, 1888, to a Customs House broker in New Orleans. On behalf of Paul Nadar of Paris (perhaps of the family of the famed French photographer Nadar, pseudonym of Gaspard-Felix Tournachon) Eastman inquires as to four cases of pictures shipped to the broker's care which arrived in New Orleans on a steamer from Liverpool. Some fold tears at top and center folds with few very tiny holes, 3 folds, some slight offset of signature, one slight spot at left side. With envelope.
