New Brunswick Registered letter wrapper receipt, black on green, partly printed formular folded letter to the Postmaster of Presque Isle, Me. via Grand Falls N.B. exchange office (Aug. 15), showing "Upper St. Bazil N.B./15 Aug 70" circular unframed origin datestamp with date inserted by hand, while the inside shows "Presque Isle Me./Aug 19" receiving c.d.s. applied by the postmaster in the allotted space, scarce throwback to the Provincial period, with many postmasters in the Maritime Provinces continuing to use these into the Confederation period until these were outlawed in 1875.
