Newfoundland 1861, 4d rose lake (18), large to ample margins, tiny corner crease, and 1d brown purple (1) touched in places, cancelled by split cork and the 1d additionally tied by "Boston Br. Pkt. 5/Oct 28" c.d.s. on 1865 folded letter to Baltimore, showing "St. Johns Newfoundland Paid/OC 18 1865" rimless origin c.d.s. in red adjacent, vertical filing fold crosses the 1d and cover, which is split across fold at top, one side panel and lower back panel missing, still a rare and attractive franking.
