1867 (Sep. 21) Boston, Mass. to Montreal, Canada, duplex c.d.s. with segmented corks tying 90¢ blue (72), deep rich color, along with 10¢ green (68) pair on long, buff cover, "Montreal, C.E. SP 23 '67" backstamp, backflap sealed with red embossed commissioner label; 10¢ pair with s.e. and tiny tear on bottom stamp, horizontal file fold, tear on reverse, still a fresh and Fine courthouse usage; 11-times the 10¢ treaty rate to Canada.

ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED 90¢ 1861 USAGES TO CANADA.

The two recorded 90¢ 1861 usages to Canada are:
1. Sep. 21, 1867 to Montreal bearing 90¢ with 10¢ pair paying 11-times the 10¢ treaty rate (the cover offered here)
2. 1873 to Montreal bearing 90¢ with 2¢ Banknote strip of three paying 16-times the 6¢ treay rate, Ex-Robertson
