1865 (Sep. 24) Washington, D.C. to London, England, duplex c.d.s. tying 30¢ orange (71) and 90¢ blue (72) on long yellow cover, "Boston Br. Pkt. 27 Sep" transit c.d.s., partial "Short Paid" handstamp and blue crayon "50/10" due, "London OC 9 '65" backstamp and manuscript "10/-" shillings due, embossed Patent Agent label sealing backflap; 30¢ creased, reduced slightly at right and minor repairs, small spindle hole in address, Fine usage.

The cover was prepaid at five-times the 24¢ rate to England. It was charged ten-times the 24¢ rate to England and therefore rated as wholly unpaid since partial payment was not accepted.
