1862 (Dec. 26) New York to Bordeaux, France, double-circle datestamp with matching segmented killer tying two 90¢ blue (72) singles, deep color, along with 5¢ red brown, 10¢ green (75, 68) on blue folded letter, red "New York Paid Dec 27" transit c.d.s., magenta "78" credit (13-times 6¢), indistinct red French transit and matching boxed "PD" handstamp, Paris Jan. 10 and Bordeaux Jan. 11 backstamps; missing parts of address professionally replaced affecting the French transit; still a Very Fine usage; thirteen-times the 15¢ rate via American Packet to London, thence by French mail.

The contents of the letter mention that the original mailing contained 25 duplicate copies of a document, explaining the high rating of thirteen times.
