Khanrivier: 1898-99, the magnificent study of Khanrivier "Wanderstempel"(type I of Rössing), comprising 14 envelopes, 9 postcards (8 are stationery, one is an intact reply paid card), and 4 pieces, spanning the dates from 18 August 1898 (the post office opened on 10 August 1898) to 21 April 1899 (office closed on 28 April 1899), with sixteen of the twenty types of manuscript "Khanrivier" as identified by Hans Fischer and Ulrich Czimmek, with an excellent and varied range of usages and nice frankings, including registered with 1898 (2 Sept.) envelope to Swakopmund bearing 3pf to 20pf with manuscript registration label of "Rössing" overwritten "Khanrivier" (only three covers recorded), and type 21 manuscript town name on 1899 (7 Apr.) registered envelope to Mainz redirected to Cernobbio (Como) bearing 1898 3pf (2), 5pf, 20pf and 1898 10pf cancelled by "Wanderstempel" and with blank registration label (only recorded date of use for this type), mounted to international exhibition standard (would make an ideal one frame exhibit), Fine to Very Fine.
