The current Cape of Good Hope postal stationery cards were sold for use on the postal route through British Bechuanaland which was faster than the normal route (usually one month). Hasuur was on the land border. The two different dates for the 10 pfennig stamp are explained by the fact that the card was originally franked for transit across German South West Africa and the card was to be sent through British Bechuanaland. The second 10pf possibly paid part of the missing ½d of the Cape franking. The difference in dates is explained by the infrequent postal service from Hasuur.
