ONE OF ONLY ABOUT A DOZEN UNUSED EXAMPLES IN SOUND CONDITION, THIS BEING ONE OF THE FINEST - THERE ARE NO EXAMPLES OF THE 5¢ FIRST DESIGN WITH PERFS COMPLETELY CLEAR OF THE DESIGN ALL AROUND.

Expertization: 1959 and 2006 P.F. Certificates.

It is estimated that there are fewer than 40 recorded examples of the 5¢ first design. Due to the fragile nature of the paper, the "August" issues are especially prone to damage. There are only about a dozen recorded that are completely free of faults.
