A SCARCE USAGE FROM CLEVELAND TO CANADA SHOWING THE FERRIAGE CHARGE.

Ferriage was an additional Canadian charge for conveying mail by ferry between exchange post offices. The charge was added to ordinary postage by distance. It was abolished on March 6, 1837.
