1895 Fumigated cover to India, two 2¢ vermilion (31) and four Provisional Govt. red overprints (53, 54, 57 (vertically split ovpt. "1893" at top), 59), all tied by magenta four-ring cancellations on registered 1¢ Provisional Government entire (U10) to Colaba, Bombay, India, matching "Honolulu Hawaii Sep 30 1895" c.d.s. and "Registered" handstamp, New York registry label (moved from its original position covering a 2¢ vermilion), various backstamps including San Francisco, New York, Sea Post Office, and Colaba (11.10), two clipped corners for fumigation; Fine.

This cover has clipped upper and lower corners for fumigation during the 1895 cholera epidemic in Hawaii. Mail was quarantined at Honolulu from August 20, 1895 to October 23, 1895, and was fumigated before it could be put aboard a ship bound for another port.
