German Ship Covers, beautiful mounted collection of about 350 covers carried on ships built by the Blohm & Voss Shipyard of Hamburg, spanning the years 1896-1944, from B & V ship o28, Ella Woermann to ship 659, Europa. The collection includes a huge variety of postmarks, both Naval and civilian, as well as some unusual frankings (we note three West-Africa Line covers with Liberian stamps) and is augmented by innumerable photographs, picture postcards and promotional materials (plus extra covers tucked in the the backs of pages), all neatly written-up (in German) in six volumes. A marvelous lot for the ship cancel collector.
