New York, N.Y., 1845, 5¢ black on bluish (9X1), horizontal pair, large to huge margins all around (tiny scissors cut in between stamps at top), bright with a crisp impression, tied by two light strikes of red square grid cancellations on 1846 folded letter to Columbia S.C., red "Paid" in arc handstamp and matching partial "New York '10cts' 29 Dec" c.d.s., file fold slightly affects right stamp (not mentioned on certificate), a fresh and Extremely Fine usage.
