Confederacy, Soldier and 11-Star Confederate Flag, patriotic design (Dietz Ty. F-C-1a) in dark yellow on a gray envelope postmarked Sep 7 (1863) Macon, Miss. c.d.s., manuscript soldier's id mostly eradicated by water stain, includes original soldier's letter to his wife, datelined "Camp Co F Fair Grounds, Macon Miss, Sunday Sept 6th 1863", letter is quite articulate and neatly penned, but heavily cross-written on two sides of a lined sheet; a scarce design in a rare color.
