Circle of Wedges (Skinner NYFM 65-unlisted), two strikes ties 30¢ orange (71) horizontal pair, bright and fresh on 1865 cover to Livorno, Italy, red "New York 'Paid' Jul 12" exchange c.d.s. with red crayon "54" credit rating (3 times 18¢), red French (7.22.65) entry c.d.s. and matching small "PD" h.s., Torino (7.24) arrival backstamp, part of reverse missing, Very Fine and unusual use.

The 60¢ underpays three times the 21¢ per ¼ ounce rate, apparently accepted as full payment since proper credit of three times 18¢ was credited. Carried on Cunard Line "Cuba" that departed New York on July 12, 1865 and arrived at Queenstown on July 21, 1865.
