Envelope, 1864, 3¢ pink on buff (U59), used entire, size 7, knife 23, watermark 1, with printed Wells Fargo frank and blue "Eureka" company oval, cancelled by Shaded "N" fancy cancellation and matching partial "O. to C.U. Pacific R.R., May 24" c.d.s. and addressed to Concord, Mass.; flap mended and reattached, 1869 pencil note on reverse; Very Fine appearance. UPSS 127.

This cover was mailed only 12 days after the Trans-Continental railroad was completed. This was possibly carried on the first through trip from West to East. It was carried by Wells Fargo from Eureka to Oakland, where placed on a Central Pacific train and carried by rail all the way to the East Coast.
