"Head Quarters, Camp Abraham Lincoln", imprinted on cover bearing 3¢ rose (65), bottom imprint and plate 13 selvage, cancelled by grid and matching "Portland Me Sep 15 1862" d.c.d.s. to Sringvale, Me., docketed "Order from Col. John Lynch", original matching letterhead enclosure with General Orders setting rules for organizing new New England regiments in the Union Army; reduced slightly at right, fresh and Very Fine.

This was the only military facility named for Lincoln during his lifetime. Fort Abraham Lincoln in Dakota Territory was not named until the 1870s.
