1862 to Rear Admiral Samuel P. Lee, cover bearing 3¢ rose (65) tied by open star fancy cancel duplexed with "Gloucester Ms. Nov 14" d.c.d.s., addressed to U.S.S. Minnesota, Commander N. Atlantic Squadron at Hampton Roads, Va., clean and Very Fine.

After winning battles in Grant's Mississippi campaign, Samuel P. Lee, took command of the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron. He was the brother of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. The Minnesota was seriously damaged in the Monitor-Merrimac battle in 1863.
