Soldier's Affidavit and Ballot Envelope, sent by one James H. Mills of Brutus, N.Y. from Washington, D.C. to Weedsport, N.Y., Oct 29, 1864; enclosed with the affidavit is Mills' Power of Attorney, authorizing one Dexter Havens (the addressee) to cast Mills' vote. The cover and the affidavit (printed on a similar envelope) are reduced slightly with toning in one corner, otherwise a Fine and rare grouping of 1864 election memorabilia.
