1863, 20¢ green (13), used with a 10c greenish blue (11c), tied together by a blue, mostly clear Mar 24 Greensborough, N.C. c.d.s. on a cover to Morgantown, N.C.; the 20¢ has a tear in the upper left corner and the cover has been cosmetically refolded from a much large size. F.-V.F. Signed on the reverse by Stanley Ashbrook with his notation, "In my opinion this 30¢ rate was a WRAPPER RATE of 3x10¢…is genuine - probably 1864." In our opinion, owing to the apparent original size of the envelope, this is simply a triple 10¢ rate for 1-1½ ounces.
