FitzRoy, Augustus, Third Duke of Grafton (1735-1811), Prime Minister of Great Britain (1768-1770), letter signed "Grafton", one page 7½" x 12", mounted on one edge to another piece of paper, Grafton writes to the King (George III), recommending that as chancellor of the University of Cambridge, he would like the King to grant John Herriker a Masters of Arts degree rather than "the inferior degree of Bachelor of Arts", moderate overall toning, Very Good.
