Württemberg 1kr yellow brown and pair of 1865 3kr rose (Michel 6b, 31a), cancelled "Stuttgart, 7/1 (6)" c.d.s.s. on 3kr rose postal stationery envelope sent registered to Berlin, magenta "Stuttgart/Chargé" handstamp, backstamped Berlin distribution datestamp (8.1); two light vertical file folds not affecting stamps, Very Fine. Postage was apparently 3kr plus 7kr for registration indicating the probable year as 1868 when the 6kr registration fee was raised to 7kr. Scott 7, 42.

(30.4), bearing pair of 1889 20pf bright ultramarine tied by boxed "POSTAGE PAID/Imperial German Post-office/Apia 13-4-1895.", violet sender's oval datestamp on reverse (P.C. Fabricius); opening tears (one large at top), otherwise Very Fine and exceedingly rare.

Württemberg 18kr light blue (Michel 10), vertical strip of five with bottom sheet margin, second stamp with "apostrophe" after right "U" (Mi. 10 I), most framelines intact, tied by several strikes "Weill D Stadt, 7 Mar. 1859" c.d.s. on large envelope sent registered to Kensington (Philadelphia) Pa., U.S.A. magenta "Chargé" and black "Recomandirt" handstamps, red "Aachen, Paid 50 Cts., 10/3" c.d.s., London crowned "Registered" and "Boston, Br. Pkt., Paid, Mar 29", various rate markings in "60" handstamp, backstamped Stuttgart (7.3), Wurttemberg (8.3) and Coblenz-Coeln (9.3) railroads; cover restored at edges and refreshed but an attractive cover and one of the rarest of all Wurttemberg frankings. A double weight letter requiring 6kr for internal postage, 78kr for passage to the U.S., and 6kr for registration. Scott 12.

German New Guinea 1888, New Guinea Company 2mk parcel card (Michel 1), for a 3.2kg. parcel sent from the Astrolabe Co. in Friedrich-Wilhelmshafen to its headquarters in Berlin via Finschafen or Soerabaya, postmarked "Hatzfeldthafen, 23.12, 90" c.d.s., handstamped New Guinea Company seal featuring a lion motif, folded between card and receipt.

ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED PARCEL CARDS WITH A HANDSTAMPED POSTMARK — THE OTHER BEING FROM FINSCHAFEN. IN ADDITION, ONLY TWO USED CARDS WITH THE RECEIPT STILL ATTACHED ARE KNOWN.

Marshall Islands 1914 (12 Mar.) parcel card from Nauru to Hamburg, bearing 50pf yacht and, on reverse, a pair of the 5pf and 50pf yacht tied by "Nauru, Marshall-Inseln" c.d.s.s., blue manuscript "180" for a 1kg. parcel with a 20pf carrier fee paid in cash (handstamped "Verzollungs-Brazer. Bestellgebühr 20pf" on reverse), Very Fine. The Nauru postmark has the variety "raised dot between day and month".
