Harvey Bennett Harvey Bennett began his career as a philatelic auctioneer in 1969, when he joined the family business, Matthew Bennett Stamps, established in 1948. In 1993, he became sole proprietor and eventually expanded the national auction house to include two additional international houses: HA Harmers SA in Switzerland and Zurich Asia in Hong Kong.

From 1969 to date, Harvey Bennett has assisted in bringing to auction over 2,000 private collections in nearly 300 auctions. Included in these collections were some of the most important philatelic holdings formed over the last forty years. Many of these were award-winning exhibition collections featured in the renowned Exhibition Collection series, including such famed philatelists as Guido Craveri; George Kramer; Margie Faiman; Ed and Jean Siskin, and Anna-Lisa and Sven-Eric Beckeman.

During his tenure as owner and president of Matthew Bennett International, Harvey Bennett has served the industry in numerous ways. As a recognized expert on United States stamps, he offered his proficiency to such expertizing organizations as the American Philatelic Society and the Philatelic Foundation. Additionally, he was a member of the Council of Philatelists of the Smithsonian National Postal Museum and a Board member of the Philatelic Foundation for many years.
