India, 1930 Attempted Flight, Calcutta-Cape Town (Mu #88), S.G. #203 tied on pretty cover by lightly struck Delhi 22 DEC 30 c.d.s., two different flight cachet with one tying a 1930 U.S. Christmas seal, signed by pilot A.M. Murad and is self addressed to Stephen H. Smith, backstamped Calcutta and with additional strike of flight cachet, choice Very Fine, the Aga Khan had offered a £500 prize for the first Indian to make the solo flight from Calcutta to Cape Town, Murad had mechanical trouble with his plane and only reach Karachi, only 32 covers of 81 total dispatched from Delhi.
