United States valuable U.S.N. ship covers 1930's -50's, huge collection of about 7000 covers mainly in alphabetical order from the Abbot to the Zeilin including everything up to the huge carriers and battleships (we spotted at least 25 Arizona's). Almost entirely Crosby's but some other cachets are included as well as unused envelopes. While there is the occasional cover with flaws the vast majority are fresh and sound, a spectacular lifelong collection that must be viewed to be appreciated.

United States U.S.S. Frigate Constitution 1931-34, exceptional collection of 550 covers from the historic cruise up and down both coasts of the United States with a wealth of different designs and dates plus taped in photos, brochures, news clippings, and a few modern covers. All housed in an old 20x14x4 Lampe blank cover album with five encased tokens/medallions on the front plus an additional 425 covers loose and in two photo albums. There is a wide range of designs from Crosby and other cachet makers including quite a few hand colored ones. Lastly included is the two volume edition of "The 1931-1934 Cruise of the U.S. Frigate Constitution" by Leon Field. While the albums are in poor condition the covers are virtually all sound, fresh and F-VF, a very attractive lot of this popular area.

United States U.S.S. Lexington 1930-42, 300 covers arranged chronologically plus a few photos (some edge tape stains). While some early are without cachets or are by other cachet makers the vast majority are Crosby and cover a huge range of designs, events and dates. A very few with creases from being forced into sleeves, still a fresh and VF collection of this gallant ship sunk at the Battle of the Coral Sea.

Potomac - F.D.R.'s presidential yacht 1938-42, 300 covers arranged somewhat chronologically, with a wide range of dates and mostly photo cachets including six third term inauguration covers as well as a first term 1933 cover with a Hyde Park, N.Y. cancel, few stains but the vast majority are VF.

United States framed naval covers 1941-45, lot of two approximately 2x3' hanging wall glass frames with a total of 18 covers cancelled between 8/14 and 9/10/45 commemorating V-J Day or other surrender connected dates including two different legal size hand painted 9/2/45 Tokyo Bay covers depicting bombers and the battleship Missouri before Mt. Fuji. In addition there is another frame of 13 U.S. Navy FDCs #935 that also includes a similar hand painted cover which depicts the carrier Yorktown, VF, a most attractive lot.
