Augusta & Atlanta R.R., two covers from the same correspondence, first is bold Sep 2 c.d.s. in blackish blue (355-A-3) tying 3¢ rose red (11), margins to just in at left on buff cover to Athens, Ga., Very Fine; second is mostly clear July 28 c.d.s. in black with four margin #11 cancelled by matching grid, stamp with vertical crease, Fine usage. The first cover appears to be the one from which the tracing in Towle was made, though blue is not listed for the 33.5mm c.d.s.

Boston & Albany R.R., partial strike of c.d.s. in reddish black (53-B-2) on undated folded cover to New Bedford, Ms. with 1¢ blue, type II (7) strip of three, pos. 3-5L1e, large margins to just in at bottom of left pair, strip with matching grids tying at right, stunning rich color, middle stamp with tiny scrape below chin, otherwise fresh, Fine usage, the right stamp is Extremely Fine, very scarce usage with the 1¢ 1851. This marking is known in both red and black, the example here has a trace of both inks.

(240-A-3) ties 12¢ black, diagonal bisect used as 6¢ (17a) on 1852 folded letter from New York to Georgetown, D.C., bisect is top left half with large margins and well tied, Very Fine, a very rare usage of an 1851 bisect and one of the very few used from the east coast.
